He had heard Rain whispering to Calico. He didn’t have to be a fly on the wall to know what was going to happen next. As he had walked toward the waiting man, his gaze fell upon a smirking Russell. He sat down and attempted hard to follow what the man to his left was saying, but his eyes were trained on Calico and Rain. She had responded to the woman. She stood still with a blank expression as she listened silently. Calico then tilted her head as if she had misunderstood what had been said. A slow smile formed across her lips. Her head turned slowly in his direction. He had seen that smile before. To others, it appeared normal, and cheerful, but in the depths of her gray, glaring eyes had been something very different. Andreas knew that there was no telling how the chips may lay after today regarding him and Calico. Just like a changing wind, his worry was exchanged for the temper he was known for. He formed a tight fist and slammed it down on the table which caused the older man to jump in surprise.

“Are you alright?” questioned the man. His eyes went over to the woman that seemed to have Andreas’s attention.

He ran his hand through his dark hair, pushing it back from his eyes, and took a deep calming breath and exhaled it loudly. The smile he flashed the man was a mixture of wicked and dangerous. It made Aldo sit back as a shudder ran down his spin.

“I’ve never know you to have a problem with a woman,” commented Aldo, slowly. His Italian accent was still heavy after so many years in the States.

The sound of Andreas’s chuckle only served to make the man feel even more uneasy. “You have no fucking idea.”

The man regarded the chocolate girl closely as he pondered if she was the one that he heard about some time ago. If so, then he knew the reason for the boy’s anger, even if he didn’t know it yet. It only took one time, with the right person to change a man’s life.
