Attaching an EBS Volume
Since the HTML pages to be served from the Web portal need to be persistent, it is required to create an EBS volume for holding the HTML pages that are to be served by the Web server. EBS volumes can be created from the EC2 console (see Figure E4.13) by clicking on the Volumes link. This brings up a list of all EBS volumes currently owned by the user. Clicking the Create Volume button brings up the screen shown in Figure E4.14, where the size of the needed volume can be specified before being created.
