2. Following the movements described earlier in this chapter for the basic structure, bring the earth’s force up and through your body.

3. As your heart expands and you torque your tendons from the ankles up, move your arms forward, up, and out about ½ foot. Make your arm and hand movements larger and more animated than in the previous forms. As your arms move, slightly raise your elbows, but make sure you do not lift them over the height of your hands.

4. Direct your visual focus to your hands and fingers, and bring your mental awareness to the movement of the spine, emphasizing its whiplike motion and feeling it being charged with the earth’s force.

The Seventh Position

1. Hold your hands at waist level, with your palms facing up and the fingers of each hand pointing toward those of the other, creating the shape of a basket (fig. 5.21).
