CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
-:- TARGET -:-
Breakfast over and the plan to reach Nellâs place made, we head out the back door where three SUVs and a truck are waiting. Chosen and Winter climb into Winterâs SUV, Daybreak and Knuckles climb into the blacked-out SUV that Daybreak owns and me, BS, Beer, Wings and Chaos climb into the club's SUV.
Wings is driving our SUV and heads out of the compound, with the other two following. Behind those are Drag, Stitch, Mav and Colton. A rear guard never goes amiss, and with Mav and Colton at the back, if anything happens, they are more than handy with the skills they now have.
The plan is we split in two directions; we have Winter and Chosen behind us. As we take a turn, Drag and Stitch stay behind us and the others continue until theyâll take another turn towards Nellâs.
Thankfully, we reach Nellâs with no mishaps. Pulling into the driveway of the boarding house, Wings stops in front of the main door. It only takes a minute before Nell, with Richie beside her, opens the door and walks out, giving Winter a smile as she climbs out of the SUV.
âTake the vehicles to the barn. We need to get them out of sight fast. Iâve put the boys in their kennel so you wonât have them to dodge.â Nell laughs as she tells us this, and we all know her two dogs are more than capable of taking a huge bite out of us.
Stepping behind Winter, I place my hand on her back and lead her into the boarding house. Wings places Winterâs bags inside the main door, and Chosen places his bags next to them. Chosen, Wings and Daybreak take the vehicles to the barn, and I guide Winter through to the kitchen, following behind Nell and Richie.
Once in the kitchen, Nell turns and smiles. âTake a seat. What would you all like to drink?â
I look at Winter and she gives Nell a stiff smile, which surprises me, as sheâs so open normally. But I know this has got to be hard for her, especially after finding her Pops murdered by someone who was supposed to be family.
Richie throws himself down at the table and gives us both a grin. âSo, youâve got baddies to take out, and youâre gonna be here making plans and hiding until the time's right?â he asks, with what I can only describe as glee.
Winter looks him over with a look that has me grinning, but she responds politely. âYeah, thatâs about the gist of it.â Looking at Nell, Winter speaks directly to her. âIâll have a coffee please, and I want to thank you for allowing us to come here. I know we may bring danger with us and if you decide itâs too much, donât feel bad about asking us to leave.â
Nell giggles. âGirl, we thrive on bad, so donât you go worrying about that. My boys here can handle anything anyone throws at us, and we have enough security to hold our own for months if needed.
