Nonverbal feedback: A host can enable a set of options if they turn on nonverbal feedback in meeting settings. Icons corresponding to various statements or sentiments appear at the bottom of the Participants list (desktop) or in the More menu (mobile), and show up next to your name. Options include Raise/Lower hand, as well as “yes,” “no,” “go slower,” “clap,” “need a break,” and so on. A full list is available on a Zoom help page.

Use a physical sign: Make small signs that say “yes,” “no,” “maybe,” and “applause” or other messages (Figure 20). Print these out on stiff paper and cut them out. Distribute PDFs of them to other regular participants for extra points.
