NEPTUNE
Neptune is the eighth planet from the Sun. It is just a little smaller than Uranus. Neptune is similar to Uranus in many ways. They are both known as ice giants. It also has a very, very thick atmosphere. You could not stand on Neptune.
Like the other giant planets, Neptuneâs thick atmosphere is mostly made of hydrogen and helium. But, like Uranus, it has methane gas as well. The methane makes Neptune look blue. Deep under the atmosphere, Neptune has hot fluids made of water, methane, and ammonia.
Neptune takes almost 165 Earth years to go around the Sun.
Neptune has at least 13 moons. Most are small, except Triton. Triton is a world covered in strange ices.
You cannot see Neptune with just your eyes. It is too far away. You can see Neptune with a telescope.
