When dinner was over, everyone talked about their plans for the remainder of the day. It was still early in the evening, so Khrome and his crew had already left for a play date at the park with Lexi, Milan’s cousin, and her daughter Breon. Khrome kept good on his promise of making sure they stayed in contact since Milan passed away. Dreeya wanted to take a nap and just chill, so her and Kavalli were headed to his place. Though full, Alora wanted to do a bit of shopping for the baby, so she and Krypt were headed to the mall.

“Can one of y’all take me home?” Koya asked her brothers as they all walked out of the front door.

“Krypt going that way,” Kavalli noted, volunteering his services as if he minded.

“Nigga, you don’t know where I’m going. But we got you,” Krypt said, opening the passenger door for Alora. He softly patted her ass as she climbed into the seat. “You good?”

Blushing, Alora nodded her head yes. “Mhm. Thank you.”

“I just love y’all,” Dreeya cooed. “See y’all next week.”

Alora waved bye, just as Parish made his way out of the house. He fixed him a to-go plate like everyone else and thanked Gina for the meal.

“Aye,” he called out, grabbing Koya’s attention. “You tryna smoke?”

“I don’t smoke anymore,” she replied with a roll of her eyes

“Faking ass.” He chuckled, walking over to Kavalli. They slapped hands. “‘Preciate the invite. That food blessed a nigga’s soul.”

“I’m telling you. This nap about to go crazy,” Kavalli stressed.

“See you later, brother,” Koya said, stepping over to them.

Parish glanced around the driveway and on the street for her car. “You ain’t drive?”

“Nope. Krypt about to take me home.”

Trying to keep his cool, Parish licked his lips. “I’ll take you. I know that man ain’t trying to go out of his way.”

Koya’s brow hiked. “And you are?”

“Shit, you ain’t too far from me,” he lied.

Parish lived nowhere near her, but that didn’t matter. What did was him trying to feel that pussy again. Koya vowed to not catch another ride from him, yet the circumstances were just too perfect to stand on those words. So, she shrugged and told Krypt and Alora she’d see them later.

“When y’all get cool?” Kavalli wondered.

“That lil’ road trip we took,” Parish divulged. “Nothing like a woman who gon’ buss her gun for you without hesitation.”

“Hell yeah. You already know how mine coming. Ain’t that right, bae?” Kavalli asked Dreeya, who wasn’t listening to anything he said.

Her attention was focused on the book she was reading from her phone. One of her close friends had published their first urban fiction novel and it had her glued to her screen. She couldn’t wait to get home and ignore Kavalli for the rest of the day.

Hearing their little conversation, Koya playfully rolled her eyes. “Y’all say anything.”

“Nah,” Parish denied. “I be saying exactly what you need to hear.”

He stared her down for a few seconds, catching her up in a trance yet again.
