PROPRIETOR: Like it used to be will be just fine. Sound: The proprietor walks off, his steps fading under:
THREEPIO: You won't regret this, sir. Sound: The droids go through the door.
Sound: The marching boots of the stormtroopers approach, and shouted commands are heard.
THREEPIO: The stormtroopers! Quick, Artoo, lock the door!
ARTOO: BURBLES.
Sound: The power portal door hums shut.
1 ST TROOPER: (APPROACHING) All right, you men check out that side of the street. I'll try this door.
Sound: The trooper wrenching at the door control, then striking the door with armored knuckles.
2ND TROOPER: (OFF SLIGHTLY) These ones over here are secure.
1ST TROOPER: So's this one. Okay, let's retrace our steps and move along to the next street.
Sound: Their cleated boots move off.
Sound: The door hums open.
THREEPIO: Thank goodness they've left. I would much rather have gone with Master Luke than stayed here with you. I don't know what all this trouble is about, but I'm sure it must be your fault.
ARTOO: POOH-POOHS.
THREEPIO: You watch your language! What do you think . . . look! The door to docking bay 94 is opening! But who can those creatures be, coming out?
ARTOO: BEEPS EXCITEDLY.
THREEPIO: Master Luke? Where?
ARTOO: BEEPS AN ANSWER.
THREEPIO: Oh! (CALLING) Master Luke! Here we are, sir!
LUKE: (APPROACHING) Calm down, Threepio. No need to yell.
THREEPIO: Sorry, sir. Master Luke, we were so worried about you!
LUKE: Are you two all right? Why didn't you wait inside the docking bay?
THREEPIO: It was locked until a moment ago. You have no idea what Artoo and I have been through sinceâ
BEN: (INTERRUPTING) We'll have to hear this later. We must move as quickly as we can.
LUKE: Are we still being followed, Ben?
BEN: I'm nearly sure of it. Once or twice I thought I caught a glimpse of someone, keeping well back, trailing us. Come.
LUKE: There's Chewbacca waiting at the docking bay door.
CHEWIE: BARKS A GREETING.
BEN: (APPROACHING) We're all here, my friend, and we have the money. When can we raise ship?
CHEWIE: GRUNTS.
BEN: Good. Let's get on with it.
Sound: Voices echo.
LUKE: After all Han's bragging, I can't wait to see this great Millennium Falcon.
BEN: Don't expect a smuggler's starship to be long on beauty, Luke. .
CHEWIE: WOOFS HIS AMUSEMENT.
LUKE: Now, let's see . . . that's a starship? The famous Millennium Falcon he keeps telling us about? What a piece of junk!
HAN: (APPROACHING) She'll make point five over lightspeed, kid. She's got the highest life/mass ratio around, enough to step away from any Imperial ship, and her armament rating's just plain illegal.
LUKE: But will this wreck hold together?
CHEWIE: SNARLS.
HAN: Better watch it, kid; we don't like anybody knocking her. The Falcon may not be much for looks, but she's got it where it counts. Right, Chewie?
CHEWIE: GROWLS AGREEMENT.
HAN: I've added some special modifications of my own. (TO CHEWIE) Chewie, get up into the cockpit and start the preflight rundown.
CHEWIE: GRUNTS.
LUKE: Okay, now you can show us how this thing scoots.
HAN: (LAUGHING UNCONVINCINGLY) Just a second there, boys. There's still the little matter of my good-faith money. Two thousand in cash, if I remember right.
