By the time Tuesday morning rolls around things are hectic like they usually are. I get Sophia ready for school while trying to feed them both breakfast. It’s a miracle but we manage to avoid any major spills that would result in a wardrobe change. The real test is trying to track down Sophia’s backpack. The girl would lose her head if it wasn’t attached. She hasn’t seen it since last Friday when she got home from school. Purple straps peeking out from under the couch catch my attention after ten minutes of scrambling around the house. With her bag rescued, we’re out the door and headed across town to her elementary school. For once we just might make it on time.

I debate taking Luke to daycare, but ultimately decide I don’t want to mess up his schedule. Trevor is supposed to get the kids tonight since his family is having a big party for his mother’s 60th birthday. It’s all for show of course, he just wants to look like the doting father, which he most certainly isn’t. This is the downside of co-parenting. I hate them going back so soon since they were just there for the entire weekend. I shake it off because I don’t want to be the mom who keeps her kids from their dad.

After dropping Sophia off at school, I take my baby to daycare and head home. I spend the morning getting the house back in order before hopping in the shower. I spend a little extra time pampering myself since I don’t usually get the chance.

Before heading to Diesel’s, I call and place a to-go order at Casa Rosa’s for lunch. I know what everyone likes except for AJ, who’s still home on bedrest for another day. After being told my order will be ready in twenty minutes, I gather up my things and drive across town to pick up our food.

I pull up to Diesel's house a few minutes before noon. As I’m parking, Paige pulls up waving and smiling through her window.

“Hey, pretty lady,” I call to her as I’m opening the passenger door and pulling the food from the backseat.

“Hey yourself, Mamacita,” she yells back, making me giggle. She refuses to stop calling me that.

“Please tell me that is a taco salad from Casa Rosa’s with my name on it.”

“It’s a taco salad just the way you like it, with your name all over it.” I can’t help but laugh at her dramatics.

“Come on, let’s go eat and see what advice you can give Diesel,” I call over my shoulder as we approach the door. We barely make it onto the porch before it’s swinging open and there stands D in a faded pair of jeans and a black ball cap he has on backward. He has no shirt, no socks, and no shoes. Bare-chested and barefoot, the man is a sight to behold. My mouth waters as I scan his body from top to bottom. This image should be added as the 8th wonder of the world.
