Chapter Fourteen

A new day, and everything seemed brighter. No problem Snapper encountered could chase this good mood away. Not the two haulers having battery failures or the Airponics filtration system on the fritz yet again.

Snapper handled each problem with ease, dispatching mechanics and getting one of the electricians to look at the wiring on the battery charger. He solved the issues and finally, after several hours of delegating and answering questions, he had a free moment to check on Gina.

Hell, he’d woken up next to her, silently vowing to find her a bigger bed because the small thing she had now was cramped. At the same time, he’d loved the way she’d draped over him. It was something he hadn’t ever enjoyed before, but with her it was different… Something about the way she clung to him, her steady heartbeat, even when she didn’t sleep but he did.
