Liam and I sat out on the balcony, talking as if we were the oldest pair of friends until it was time to get ready for dinner. I sincerely enjoyed his company, hating to see our time briefly come to an end. We went through two bottles of wine within that time, and I was feeling too damn good. I had to chug a bottle of water before showering to bring myself back down. Something told me dinner would get interesting, and I needed to be on point.
Checking my appearance in the mirror, I nodded in approval and blew through the circle my lips formed.
âYouâre not even worthy enough to look at, Asa. I donât even know why Iâm hanging onto you when there are a million bitches who look better than you that I can get. Your pussy makes up for what you lack.â
My hands gripped the sink as I closed my eyes, trying to shake off the bad vibes. Whenever I looked in the mirror, I could hear his voice. As if he was in the room with me, I could hear the insults spew from his lips. It has lessened over time, but whenever I felt I looked the best, that was when I could hear him the loudest.
The best thing I could do was drown him out. To uplift myself and fill myself with positivity.
âYou look amazing, Asa. If no one acknowledges it, believe in yourself. Youâre one bad bitch. Always have been. Always will be. No one can change that.â
I spun around and giggled as I threw my ass in a circle, liking the way it jiggled in the jumpsuit I wore and feeling a rush of relief come over me. It was patterned, yellow and white, with a halter top. The back dipped dangerously low in the back, barely covering the top of my ass. I paired it with white flats since we were staying at the villa, diamond studs, and a silver butterfly necklace my sister had given me years ago.
My locs were down, pushed to the right to show off my âgood side.â Once I was fully satisfied with my appearance, I sprayed on my perfume, grabbed my glass of wine and water bottle, and headed toward Livâs room.
Liamâs room was directly in the middle of our rooms. I stopped at his door, bobbing my head to the music coming from the inside. He informed me earlier that he was a sucker for some good R&B music, and from what I could hear, he had good taste. Usher was swooning me with his melodic voice. I swayed from side to side, getting lost in his words when it came to an abrupt stop and Liam swung the door open.
âOh, shit!â he exclaimed, then released a hearty laugh. That manâs smile was dangerous to a woman like me. The sight alone was enough to make my center quake and slime.
âIâm sorry. I was headed to Livâs room, then I got lost in the music.
