If you like sweet cornbread, you’ll love this simple recipe! Mix together an 8-1/2 ounce corn muffin mix, a 9-ounce yellow cake mix, 1/2 cup water, 1/3 cup milk and 2 beaten eggs. Pour into a greased slow cooker. Cover and cook on high setting for 2 hours, or until set in the center.

I tossed this stew together one snowy day while raiding my freezer. It filled our home with a wonderful aroma…it was an instant hit with my husband and my daughter! I chose the name because we love to dream of being in a cozy cabin on cold Ohio days.

3 to 4 russet potatoes, peeled and chopped

15 to 20 frozen meatballs

1 green pepper, chopped

1 onion, chopped

2 c. water

Worcestershire sauce to taste

garlic salt and pepper to taste

Garnish: shredded Italian-blend cheese

Layer potatoes, meatballs, green pepper and onion in a large slow cooker; add water. Sprinkle generously with Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and cook on high setting for 4 hours. Turn slow cooker to low setting; cook for one more hour. Sprinkle with cheese at serving time. Serves 4 to 6.
