Chapter 15

Addie

Augie was half-shifted and while I wasn’t afraid of him, I was worried he’d tear a hole in the side of the plane without meaning to, considering how badly he was shaking across from me.

I wasn’t sure if it had been my offer to let him walk away or something about Kane that had set him off, but either way, I had to figure out how to calm him before things went from bad to worse.

I need your help, Wolf, I said to her, hoping she’d instinctually know what to do, given Augie’s wolf was trying to come out and play.

A rumble sounded in my chest, and Augie’s eyes darted toward the noise. My hands trembled as my nails extended into claws. I expected fur to grow along my skin next, but instead, I was reaching for Augie.

We were in some sort of half-shift where I could easily take control of my body, but my wolf was able to move my human limbs as well. The symbiotic nature of my current state wasn’t something I’d ever achieved before, nor seen, but it was working, and I wasn’t going to question it.

Without realizing what I was doing, I’d unbuckled my seat belt and crawled into Augie’s lap. My hands splayed across his chest, nails digging into his clothes and catching his attention.

His wolf rumbled deep from within as his hands wrapped around my hips, claws tearing through my jeans as he tightened his hold. One hand slid up my back, pulling me closer. I eagerly went to him, holding his hardened stare and seeing the true beast within him.

Augie was always so calm and collected. Lighthearted and caring. Seeing him lose his temper was a turn-on I didn’t expect considering my past, but I knew he wasn’t angry at me, he was furious for me, which was something I’d never known.

His palms burned along my hip and back, but none of that distracted me from the passion warming my core. I didn’t know if it was coming from me or my wolf, but I also didn’t care. I wanted Augie.

He leaned forward to kiss me, canines still extended, and I wondered if mine were as well but didn’t have time to check before I kissed him. My claws had ripped holes in his shirt, and I moved them to his back, likely doing the same there as I pressed myself closer to him.

Both of his hands were on my hips again, digging in and holding me right where he wanted as his tongue explored my mouth. I rocked back and forth, having no control over my movements, but also not caring. Being in the partial shift had turned me into someone else, and I didn’t mind. With Augie touching me as he was, I’d never felt more like a woman and a beast at the same time.

I licked his lips and cut my tongue on his canine, pulling back to kiss his cheek and then down his neck. My wolf’s mind became clearer as my lips pressed against Augie’s neck.
