“Don’t look now, but you-know-who is coming down the hall,” says Savannah.

Sighing, I know I don’t have to look. She is talking about the twins. It’s been a few weeks, maybe a month, since the run-in at Boffman’s. Turning around, I set myself up for the torment that is bound to come.

“Hey, Lacey. What have you been up to?” Grant asks, boxing me in against the locker.

Refusing to answer him, I ignore his question and just stand there staring at his chest.

Tye moves in and unclasps one of my hands. I glance over at him and see his smug grin, and it angers me. I hate that I let them bully me. At the beginning of the year, I was so strong and refused to back down, but I know that if I say something, they will just use it against me.

Glancing down, I see Tye place a Hershey’s Kiss in my hand.

“We just wanted to kiss you,” he says while chuckling.

I gasp.

Grant pushes off of the lockers, and he and Tye head to their classes. Tye looks back at me with an expression that I can’t place.

“What the actual fuck just happened?” I ask Savannah.

“Dude, don’t look at me. I was just a bystander. But it looked like you three were pretty friendly,” she tells me as she wiggles her eyebrows.

“We are not friendly,” I seethe. “I hate those guys. You know that. Especially after what they did. I was the talk of the school for weeks until Gina broke up with Corey for cheating on her with Alyssa.”

I don’t understand who would date Corey. He is the whore of the school and will fuck anything with a hole. Why Gina thought she could tame him, is beyond me. But her loss was my gain. I was finally out of the spotlight and now I’m just keeping my head down and trying to stay out of people’s way and business.
