I didn’t mean to upset Theodora by mentioning the attraction between the Seer and our Laird. Anyone with a sense of sight or smell could tell. It was nothing to be embarrassed about. Our Leader was available for a quick tumble or two. When I’d first noticed the mutual attraction, I’d worried that she would not understand that he was promised to another. However, she had proved herself to be rational and accepting of our ways.

Everyone had noticed that she was attractive. She was voluptuous and feminine, plus she didn’t realize it, which made it seem even more of a challenge to capture her attention. Who wouldn’t want to unwrap that gift? Teach her all about pleasure and know that she would blush and giggle the entire time someone whispered dirty thoughts into her ear.

I thought about it every time she leaned into me. Conal knew her effect on me, and he was into it. Not that he wanted the human. We’d discussed my feelings one morning before she woke. My mate approved of my idea that I try to seduce her, breaking through her nice girl façade. Stroking and tasting her until she went wild.

Maybe tonight was the right time…? He entered our bedroom as I pulled my dress over my head.

“My timing is perfect.” His big, calloused hands were on my breasts while he pressed his body against my back.

I pulled back my shoulders, giving him better access.

“I was thinking,” I said softly.

“You want her,” he finished my thought.

If asked what the best part of being mated was, my answer would be that he knew me. I didn’t have to spend time explaining my feelings or desires. Conal always knew.

I twisted my head, so I could look up into his eyes.

“Then why, Mate, are you standing here?” He smiled like a hungry wolf who’d just sighted a deer.

Yeah, he was totally into this. I slipped out of my thong and sauntered to our closet to find my silk robe. I tied the belt around my waist, loose enough so that my breasts showed almost to my nipples.

“You’ll need to go in easy,” he cautioned.

He’d stripped off his shirt. I loved looking at his body.

“I know what I’m doing,” I gave him a cheeky grin. “I caught you, didn’t I?”

He pulled me into his arms and kissed me. “You did.”

Of course, we both knew that he did all of the pursuing and the catching, although I didn’t put up much of a fight.

I made my way quietly to Theodora’s room. She was in her bathroom with the water running. “Hey.” I knocked on the doorframe. I knew that she liked for us to pretend she had some privacy.

She finished rinsing the cleanser from her face. After drying, she pulled the bright pink headband from her hair. “I’m going to need your help with this tape.”

I moved toward her. I slowly started to peel the adhesive from her lower back. After I cleared a section, I smoothed my fingertips over the skin.
