Chapter 12
When Caydence next awoke, the sheets were cold next to her. How long had she been asleep? Where was Tyler? She looked around the room and did not see him anywhere. Stretching deliciously, Caydence was like a cat waking from a delicious nap. She couldn’t believe she had fallen asleep in his arms. When was the last time that had happened to her? Caydence couldn’t actually remember ever being so sexually satisfied that she curled up in a sleepy coma afterwards.
She pushed away from the bed and stood up. As she walked around the room, she felt a slight chill. Looking down, she realized she was still completely naked. Not one to walk around with no clothes on, she looked for her shirt. When she did not see it near her, she grabbed the nearest garment. Tyler’s shirt. She held it up to her face and smiled as his cologne drifted up to her nose. Sliding it over her head, she was surprised to see it went midway down her thighs.
Caydence walked over to the balcony and saw the moon was high in the sky. The round orb reflected on the water below and the light shimmered across the waves. It was….
“Breathtaking,” Tyler whispered.
Her breath caught in her throat as she turned to see him sitting in one of the loungers. So that was where he had gone to. She almost breathed a sigh of relief. Not that she owned him, but the thought of him out on the ship made her a little worried that some other woman would capture his interest. Not that Tyler reminded her of a homewrecker. She highly doubted he would want that kind of entanglement.
His eyes were traveling the length of her body before he stood up and walked over to her. She saw he was wearing only a pair of boxers. He moved so that he was only a foot away from her. “I think it looks better on you.”
What? She couldn’t even process what he was saying with him being so close to her, yet so far away. How had he managed to make her forget everything in the world just by his proximity? Her eyes met his, and she licked her bottom lip as she waited to see what he was going to do next. She saw something flash in his eyes, as if he was stuck in a thought he did not share. Caydence related to that. She had so many of her own that she never voiced. Like how much she wanted to feel alive in his arms again.
Inches. She moved herself closer to him. Centimeters. Reaching for him, she bridged the rest of the gap to his kiss. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she sighed against him as she felt his arms pull her closer. With every kiss he pulled her deeper in, and Caydence wasn’t sure she could ever pull herself out.
When he broke the kiss, Caydence looked up at him through heavy lids. “Mr. Jensen, you are quite the kisser.
