But this time the friends weren’t worried. They knew Scyther’s Swords Dance would clear the air in no time. And they were right! Once again, the mantis Pokémon began to spin in place. The spinning made a swirl of air that looked like a mini-tornado. Soon all the smog was whisked away.

Ash looked at Scyther with concern. It was still weak, and the Swords Dance had drained its energy. It was going to need some help.

“Bulbasaur!” Ash commanded. “Vine Whip!”

The plant bulb on Bulbasaur’s back opened up. Long green vines snapped through the air and hit Arbok. They stung the Poison-type Pokémon.
