“How’s she holding up?” Ciyani asked me as she stepped into my place. Since the night of the incident, Janae had been staying with me. Honestly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way because I wanted to make sure she was okay. It had been two weeks and while she had finally started back eating more, she still wasn’t back to her normal self.

“She’s hanging in there. Did you get everything?” I had called Ciyani earlier to pick up some things I knew she would need while she was here. Of course, Janae had her own drawer and space in my closet. She still needed some of the basic essentials for women. I loved my girl and all but there was no way I was going back in the store searching for tampons and pads with wings. I would much rather pay someone else to do it.

“How are you holding up? You haven't been by the house to work out all week, so I know you haven't been eating right either.” She gave me the look of a concerned parent which caused me to chuckle.

“I’m trying, Sis. I just don’t feel comfortable leaving her alone for too long. She swears she’s okay, but she has barely come out of my room since she got here. She hardly sleeps, eats, or showers. All she does is stare into space and cry. I’ve never felt so fuckin helpless in my life. I want to go and end that niggas life every time I think about what he did to her. Hell, maybe it would make her feel better if she knew she'd never have to see his face ever again.”

“You sound like your brothers. They both feel the same way given the information that’s coming out about him. Apparently, Janae wasn’t the only one. Jett went through his files and found a few civil suits he’s settled for an undisclosed amount for the same thing. It’s disgusting to even think of how many women have suffered at the hands of that man. I’m not a killer, but if I had the opportunity, I would end his entire existence.” She fumed. Ciyani meant every word and I shared her sentiments.

“He’s gonna answer for this somehow, but it’s not something for you to worry yourself about. I’m gonna handle it. You can go in there if you want. I’m sure she could use the company.” I told her. Janae had been in communication with everyone, but nothing more than a few texts here and there. Most of the updates were coming from me.

“Oh, I am. I’m actually here to relieve you for the day. Loyal, Justice, and Renegade are outside in the truck waiting for you.” My face twisted and I frowned in confusion. Outside of our usual good morning texts none of them had mentioned anything to me about going anywhere.

“You have five minutes to get dressed; otherwise, they will be coming up here to grab your buff ass. Those were Loyal’s words, not mine.
