Ravenous is nothing like I pictured it in my head.

After our shower, Noah dried my hair and watched as I dressed. Having his eyes on me while I went about each task made me feel secure. My stomach tightened when he smiled approvingly; I found comfort in his appreciation.

The dress fit like a second skin. It stretched around my body and hugged me when I moved.

I was nervous about the car ride to the club as Marcus would be driving us but I found out quickly, nerves were not necessary. Marcus was a perfect gentleman. He treated me as he always did, offering me a smile and some light conversation as though it was a normal day.

Noah told me about protocol in the club and how different members have different interests and rules so I wouldn’t get offended if someone didn’t look up to greet me. He told me how the members mark their claims with collars, leashes or bracelets and offered me the choice of a collar and leash for the evening.

For most, that meant the sub was owned and not available for conversation with anyone. Since Noah was going to be on stage for a bit during the evening, this would prevent someone from wandering over to try to talk to me.

Apparently, one of his friends, Joshua, doesn’t take kindly to those who don’t follow club rules so it would save us all the trouble and should keep anyone away from me which I appreciate. While Noah and I are exploring this new dimension of mine, I’m not interested in talking to anyone else about it right now.

As Noah’s, I am to sit quietly by his side until I am spoken to and Noah nods that I can speak. A month ago, I would have found the thought of this preposterous. Now, I’m thankful for the mental and physical timeout. This gives me time to process. His world is new to me and my anxiety left me as soon as I realized I don’t have to talk to anyone. This collar grants me Noah’s protection and care, I think to myself as I reach up to touch the metal clasp holding the short leash in place.

“Don’t touch, Baby. You’re doing fine.” His lips tickle my shoulder from the back as he slides my coat down my arms before handing everything to the woman behind the counter. “Everyone has to check their bags and coats here. They’ll keep everything secure.” He looks at my hand and I follow his eyes to my phone.

“Oh, right. Sorry.” I answer immediately then catch myself before putting my hand over my mouth. I’m not supposed to talk so I mouth the word sorry with an awkward wince which makes him laugh out loud.

His features soften before he leans in to kiss my cheek before whispering, “Starting—now.” Winking, he opens my handbag and I drop the phone in.

“Mr. Wilde, your party is already seated. Raif will show you to your table.” The woman speaks to Noah but smiles at me and I smile back.
