âCan we get some anal beads and a butt plug, please?â asked Cali smiling at the cashier as he walked off to get the items.
âWe already have a butt plug, why do we need another one? And when was this Cali? Because, you werenât talking like this before I got locked up,â said Shade. Cali moved over to allow Shade to pay for her items.
âThis was two years ago after I started going to therapy again,â Cali explained.
âTherapy? I thought you were past a lot of your issues,â said Shade looking concerned.
âOh no Shade, everything is cool with me. I just had to go talk with someone, because I began to miss you terribly, and when my daddy had the heart attack, I just felt alone. So I went to talk to someone,â Cali explained.
âWasnât Tia and Renee there for you?â asked Shade. Cali gave her a fake smile.
âRenee was there for me as much as she could. You know how I donât really mesh well with them when youâre not around. However, I did get closer to Renee. She was there for me when I really needed a friend,â Cali explained.
Shade remembered that Cali was her friend from the beginning. Tia lived on the same block as Shade, so it was evident that they would be the best of friends. When Tia started going to the same private school as Shade and Cali, naturally they all started hanging out. Tia picked up Renee later on during the school year, because she was jealous of Shade and Caliâs relationship, so it was only natural that they became the Four Musketeers.
âWell, who is this old man that turned you out?â asked Shade looking curious. Cali looked at her with a devilish grin.
âGirl⦠heâs not old,â said Cali laughing. âWell, he is old, but I like to call him seasoned.â Shade looked at Cali strangely. âBut, heâs not my boo Iâve been talking about.â
âSo, is your boo more like a sponsor?â Shade replied.
âI think itâs a little bit more than that, but he has a family and I donât want to cause any more damage than Iâve already caused,â Cali explained. Shade looked at her friend to see if she could read her expression, but Cali had a somber look on her face letting Shade know that she had some remorse.
âYou have guilt written all over your face Cali,â said Shade.
âI donât feel guilty about what Iâm doing. He approached me at a time when both of us were in need. He had lost his best friend, and so did I. We both were confused and didnât know who to turn too, so we found each other. His girlfriend could care less about how he was feeling. As long as she could go out shopping and spend up his money, his feelings were irrelevant,â Cali explained. She picked up a bullet and put it with Shadeâs stuff. âI love this! Anyway, it wasnât supposed to end up this way. We
