Tina the Diva was sitting in a big wicker chair with a long elegant back. The chair was under a large pink tent right in the middle of the back yard. This was her throne and we of course were her subjects.

“Everything okay dear?” she asked as I approached the tent. “Come sit with me.” I was not sure if she had seen my argument with Calvin, or if she could read my face. Perhaps it was a little bit of both.

“Yeah, everything is good.” I grabbed the small folding chair that was adjacent to her and plopped it down next to her wicker throne. She smiled at me.

“You need some gloss. Everyone needs some lip-gloss.” Tina reached into her bra with her right hand and started to dig around. Moments later, she produced a tiny cosmetic bag and handed me the lip-gloss. Her bra was like Mary Poppins' magical bag.

“I saw you talking with Dino,” Tina said.

“Yeah, he wanted me to get into the hot tub. I said no.” I laughed a little.

“I think he really likes you,” Tina added.

“I think he really likes everyone—at least that’s what I hear.”

“No, no Jase. I talked with Dino before he came here. You were the one he was most excited to meet. Now don’t get me wrong, I could tell his ‘beer can’ liked you from all the way over here.”

“Ha-ha, that thing is massive,” I interrupted. “No wonder some of the guys call him Woody.”

“But he is a really nice guy. I’ve known him a long time. He’s a tad playful, yes, but he means well. Most of that is just show. It’s not really who he is.”

“I suppose. I heard a rumor he is slutty and he had sex with you.”

“He did. I was lonely. I needed a friend and he comforted me the best way he knew how. He’s a good guy though. I wouldn’t call him slutty.” Tina said.

“I guess so.”

“Never judge a book by its cover or by the size of its cock,” Tina said. “Yes, Dino has slept with a couple guys here, but you know, he doesn’t have a single enemy among them. Everyone likes him. He’s funny, sweet and a loyal friend.”

“Calvin didn’t seem to like him,” I added.

“I saw that. Calvin is my best friend and I am gonna say this the sincerest way possible, Calvin is a jealous asshole. He used to have a crush on Dino, but Dino just wanted to stay friends with him. They dated very briefly, but nothing ever came of it. Calvin was always into him more than Dino was into him. I think seeing the two of you talk is pinching a nerve. He needs to get the fuck over it.” I laughed at Tina and sipped my drink. “He is an insecure control freak. I love him dearly, but sometimes he needs to be slapped.”

I looked at the ground and kicked at the grass a little. I did not know what to say.

“Jase, I’m going to give you some advice about relationships.
