Chapter Seven

I place my hand on his. He looks at me. Those eyes. Those incredible eyes. I feel his longing. His hunger. One that I am fully beginning to understand. To embrace. I will be the Daughter this village needs.

We face each other, eye to eye. We do not need words. I reach out to touch him again, this time with more intention. I want to feel him in my hands. To touch him. Make sure he understands—he is mine.

We hold our breath. My fingers trace his cheekbones.

His lips come next. He parts them.

It’s like I’m hypnotizing him.

“I will make sure you remember who you belong to,” I promise him.

He closes his eyes, “…I want you so badly, Revna.”

“I know. I feel it. I want the same,” I wrap my arms around his shoulder, our faces close, “Hold me.”

His hands wrap around my waist, his breath against me. The fire burns between us, uncontrollably.

“Wildfire,” he whispers to me.

We were only a breath apart. I kiss him. Our first kiss. His lips are full and so warm. He tastes like honey and smells like freshly cut oak. He pulls me into him, and before I know it, I am on his lap as he holds me up. Both of us desperately tasted each other, fulfilling that insatiable desire between us. His kisses grow ravenous. He is the best I have ever tasted.

I return his kiss with just as much hunger, asking to be invited into his mouth. He opens his lips for me, and our tongues meet. Finally, the conversation between us did not need words, only feeling. Where our bodies finally get to express that feeling inside of us.

My tongue leads, and he listens to my body as his large hand trails up my back and cradles my head. He is moving so gently, listening to the movements of my body, waiting for me to give him permission for more. I press against him, showing him how much I want this. How much I want him.

He massages the back of my neck, sending shivers throughout my body. I don’t want this to stop. Through his trousers, I feel his bulge.

Gunnar pulls away from me first, both breathless as we look at each other.

This feeling.

It feels so right. My body is reacting in ways I’ve never felt before. I am wet. Soaking. Those hungry eyes of his. I have never felt more seen. His strong arms hold me close, my breasts press against his broad chest. My hand traces up and down his torso. I slowly move my hips, rubbing myself against his bulge.

His breathing changes again, “Revna…,” he growls, his intense eyes like a wolf.

“It is time I claim you,” I say softly, I kiss his cheek. It is the first time I have treated anyone like this. With more tenderness, rather than something transactional. I love the way he looks at me, how his breathing and his body are unable to lie to me, “Do you want me to stop?” I ask him.
