“It smells good as hell in here.” Bakari came strolling into the kitchen, shirtless, with his lounge pants hanging loosely on his waist. My mind instantly went to a nasty place, glancing down as his dick pressed against the fabric. Even soft, it looked like a miniature elephant trunk. Hearing him chuckle, I refocused my attention on his face.

“I think you’ve had enough for one day.” Bakari winked before walking over to take a seat at the island.

Breakfast was already done, so I sat his plate in front of him and then grabbed my cup of coffee. I wasn’t much of a breakfast girl. However, my mother drilled into us the importance of starting your day off with a hearty breakfast.

“Damn, everything looks good as fuck. Wait, why aren’t you eating? You tryna poison me or somethin’?” My eyes rolled at his question.

“And what benefit would that bring me? The ink is barely dry on our marriage license, so I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be entitled to too much. I think I’ll hold off until we at least hit the one-year mark.” I giggled when he dropped his fork on the plate to glare at me.

“Yeah, right. As fine as you may be, I’d toe-tag you so quickly for playin’ with me. I’d send you away like the Queen you are, though.” I snickered at his threat. I don’t know why this kind of banter made me smile. I guess it’s because it’s a vast improvement from how we started.

“Why aren’t you dressed in your fancy suit this morning? Don’t you have some top secret mobby meeting to go to?” I inquired.

“What the hell kind of term is mobby?” He grinned. I’m so used to his normal scowl that it caught me off guard. I didn’t believe Bakari could get any finer, but I was wrong. His pretty white teeth mixed with the gold bottom grill he was sporting had me crossing my legs to keep myself calm.

“You know what I meant? You’re usually gone by the time I wake.”

“Yeah, I thought maybe we could chill today.” Glancing over the top of my coffee mug, my eyebrows raised at his admission.

“You wanna hang out with me?” I blurted out the intrusive thoughts brewing in my mind.

“Don’t make it sound like that. I just figured it’d be nice to get out of the house and spend time together. We’re married, but there are still a lot of things we don’t know about each other.” I bit my bottom lip to keep from smiling too hard, trying to play it cool so he wouldn’t know how excited this made me.

“Oh, okay. What did you have in mind?”

“I figured we could do a little retail therapy, ain’t that what y’all call it?” I giggled at the perplexed expression on his face.

“Then I figured we could grab some lunch and then hit the arcade. They have one in Jackson City that has all types of shit in it. Including laser tag, go-carts, and games.” My eyes bulged at the mention of arcades.
