5.1.2.3 Set the Learning Rate

Stay on the “Advanced” tab and set the “Learning rate strategy” to “Fixed” and the “Step size” to 0.1. You can try different learning rates to see what impact it has.

Since we observed that the gradient did not consistently decrease in the previous step, we hypothesized that the learning rate might have been set too high. To address this, let’s proceed to Fig. 5.15 and experiment with reducing the learning rate to 0.01, 0.001, and 0.0001.
