Extension of the contract
10.105 The event of force majeure may extend the period of time defined in the contract for the performance of an obligation by an amount of time equivalent to the duration of the force majeure event. Such an extension of time may be useful to allow the affected party to complete the affected obligation, although equally there is always the risk that the force majeure event could be of such a magnitude (such as the permanent loss of a key permit) that an extension of time is pointless.
