As morning commenced with a rap at her door, Mary began to think life would never settle back to the peace she had enjoyed at Rosings Park. Ada entered the room and handed Mary a letter from Lizzie. Mary sat up quickly, for this quick of a response was not expected. How could it have been handled overnight? Nonetheless, the address did appear to be in Lizzie’s hand.

Dear Mary,

I had just arrived in town when I received your letter after a rushed and somewhat miserable trip from Pemberley. It was redirected as it had been made known that I was traveling to town to join Mr. Darcy. My husband requested my presence urgently due to conversations regarding Lady Catherine and Anne de Bourgh. Have you heard any of this from Anne? I have only limited information but may know more presently.
