“She is my daughter and I love her but I wish she would just go away so that I can move on with my life. The entire family is grateful for the peace you have brought us because that girl made this family suffer. I appreciate what you have done. I just hope it doesn't reverse once you leave. She was crying when I saw you both in the garage so I guess she is upset about you leaving.”

“She was but I am taking her with me so she will be out of your hair.”

“What?”

“She wants to go with me so I told her she could come. She doesn't have any friends and she feels like I am the only one who understands her. She and I are close so it would be good for her and everyone if she is with me.”

“Oh my God! This is awesome. Thank you for looking out for her Savanna.” I smiled and took my suitcase. “Aren't you going to kiss me goodbye?”

“I think it is best I just go. Goodbye, Blake.”

“Bye, Savanna.”

I walked to the car and Lexie was still inside waiting. I put my suitcase in the trunk and sat in the driver's seat.

“Did you sleep with him? Is that why you took so long?”

“What? No! I didn't even give him the hug he wanted. Stop being jealous, we are not together.”

“My suitcase is in my car. Should I drive behind you?”

“When did you do that?”

“I just went and got it while you were talking to my dad.”

“That's presumptuous,” I replied. “Anyway, I told your father that I was taking you to live with me. So you should go say goodbye and you will see him soon.”

“You did?” She whispered. “You are taking me with you?”

“Just until we figure things out,” I said.

“Fair enough. I’ll go say goodbye. Don't leave me, OK?”

“I’ll be here. I promise. You will drive behind me.”

She smiled, squeezed my hand then exited the vehicle and ran to the house. I waited for a long time and started to wonder what was going on in there. I kept looking toward the door because I could not understand what was keeping her that long if she was only saying goodbye. I felt as if I should go in there because I was worried about Lexie so I got out of my car but then I saw her running toward me.

“What happened?”

“Nothing. Let's go,” she said and got into her car so I got into mine and we headed home.

I smiled at the thought. Lexie and I were heading home, we would be together under the same roof, having dinner, breakfast, movies, just us. I would have to wait though because we were not together. We had a lot of repairs to do but I believe we could get back there.

We got home and we removed our suitcases and headed inside the house.

“Your home is beautiful,” Lexie said. “Thank you for taking me with you.”

Lexie walked up to me, slowly her hand made it to my face, she leaned forward to kiss me but I turned my head away.
