Chapter Eleven
Chelsie
Enter!
She thought it but didnât say it. Heart racing, she stared at the closed door. He knew she was there. Pretending she wasnât would be foolish. Yet, she still sat there, silent, wishing heâd go away.
âCan I come in, Chels?â Roman asked from the other side of the door.
Hell no. Again, she thought it but didnât say it. Just go away!
âChels?â
The way he said her name sent a shiver racing down her spine. He and Alex were so different, yet, they were so much alike. They both had deep voices. But Alexâs voice was more demanding and brutish, while Romanâs was sultrier and more seductive.
Both were tall and built. When sheâd first stepped into the house and seen them, sheâd been slightly surprised at how handsome theyâd become. Not that theyâd been ugly when they were younger.
It was just that theyâd grown taller and bigger. Bigger in more way than one. Yet, their dark eyes were still the same. The still stared at her like they hated her. Wait. That wasnât hatred. Not in any shape or form. That wasâ¦
âChels, I just want to give you something. Thatâs it.â
That was what she was afraid of. She was afraid he wanted to give her something.
âIâll be quick.â
Nobody likes a minute man.
âChels, let me in.â
I canât. Itâs not right. What you want isnât right. It doesnât matter that Iâve sometimes thought about it too. That doesnât make it right. That makes it even worse.
âChels, open the door.â
NO! Itâs not right! Oh, wait, the door. He was talking about the door.
Chels sat up. To let him in or not to let him in, the door?
âChels, I have somethings I need to tell you. And Iâll answer any questions you have. I swear.â
She did have a lot of questions. However, she didnât think she should be alone with her broth⦠with her⦠Roman.
âI want to apologize for how Alex behaved earlier,â Rome called out.
He sounded sincere. Apology accepted. That didnât mean she would forgive Alex.
âBut, you were the one who started it.â
Apology no longer accepted. And she still wasnât going to forgive Alex. How was she the one who started it? She wasnât the one who dug up someoneâs past and then took it upon herself to share it with others.
Alex did that. Alex and Roman. You know what, maybe she would let him in. Alex had already felt her wrath. Now it was time for Rome to feel it. Chels climbed out of bed and stalked over to the door. After unlocking it, she pulled it open.
âLook, Romanâ¦â
He smiled down at her. Her words got lodged in her throat. She didnât remember him being this damn tall. Had he been this tall the last time she saw him, which was twenty minutes ago?
Chels cleared her throat, âRoman, youâ¦â Use your words, Chels. Youâre not illiterate. âUm, Romanâ¦â
âYes, Chels?â
That deep voice. Chels swallowed. What had she been about to say? Damn it, why was she allowing him to affect her this way? âRoman, Iâ¦â
He stretched his hands out toward.
