Elsewhere, Nietzsche takes “for granted” that the Negroes are “representative of the prehistoric man” (101), i.e. primitive creatures later described by Hitler as “monstrosities halfway between man and ape”… Based on such statements, how can one ignore, or even deny- as Kaufmann and Bluhm do- that Nietzsche did have racist views, that he did affirm the superiority of the Aryan, that he did despise the “pre-Aryan” primitive races, deploring the “physiological deterioration” of the “Aryan conquering and Master Race” through racial inter-mixture?

All of the above-mentioned facts and evidence thus lead to the following certainty: that Nietzsche’s much-celebrated “Master Race” is undoubtedly the Aryan race, whose uncontested superiority was proclaimed by the Nazis… Could Nietzsche be more “Nazi” in this respect? When Hitler praised the “magnificent alliance of the most splendid physical beauty with the shining spirit and the nobility of the soul” so characteristic of the Aryan, he was in fact describing the Superman of Nietzsche and his highly-praised “splendid blond Teuton beast” and “Aryan Master Race” that represents human perfection, holding the monopoly of beauty, intelligence, and strength. The characteristics of Nietzsche’s “race” of Supermen have indeed striking similarities with the physical, intellectual, and moral qualities of the Aryan race venerated by Hitler, Rosenberg, Gobineau and Chamberlain: as regards physical appearance, the Nazis had no trouble assimilating Nietzsche’s “strong and beautiful race” of “blond Teuton beasts” with the splendid rosy-skinned, light-haired and bright-eyed Nordic race, which they described as aesthetically and biologically perfect, the most beautiful, strongest, and healthiest race on earth, having perfect proportions, or measurements, according to Nazi racial criteria: high stature, broad shoulders, a slim and well-proportioned body, long legs, and especially -for that is the most important characteristic of racial, mental, and spiritual superiority- a cephalic index of around 75 (i.e. slightly long-headed, or dolichocephalic), a facial index above 90, and a prominent occiput, as well as a narrow oval face whose smooth parts (particularly the narrow forehead, narrow lower jaw, and prominent chin) support the expression of clean-cut, well-defined physiognomy: in other words, the Aryan is the ideal of beauty on earth, the perfect representation of a Greek god, as Hans Guenther, the main theorist of the Nordic race, affirmed:

“If an illustrator, painter, or sculptor wants to represent the image of a bold, goal-determined, resolute person, or of a noble, superior, and heroic human being, he will in most cases create an image which more or less approximates the image of the Nordic race. He will also create a man who will be regarded as a typical representation of the upper social strata.” (102).

So much for aesthetics… Biology, for both Nietzsche and the Nazis, is only the form, not the content; “blood” is essential, for it is a pre-condition for greatness, but it is not greatness-in-itself. A strong and healthy body should thus be accompanied by a “great soul”, for spirit takes precedence over the body; therefore, the real criterion of superiority is the moral, spiritual one; and here is where the similarities between
