After such a long day, I needed to calm my racing brain, so I spent most of the night in the gallery. After being away for the past few days, the paperwork had piled up, and although Stacey had done an excellent job here without me, there were still documents to sign and bills to pay that only I can do.

While my to do list was a mile long, my thoughts often turned to Sebastian. He has laid out his intentions, and I am full of nervous excitement. His gentle touches, his protectiveness… I still can’t believe he came to West Virginia. It all just blows my mind. And I want him, that much I can’t deny. I have never felt the deep desire with any other man as I have with Sebastian. I have no idea what to expect, no idea how it will all work, or even if it will work at all. He is the head of the mob for God’s sake. I think I have totally lost my mind, but I am all in. I want to be his, and I don’t care about the consequences.

Looking at my watch, I notice it is late. I was so consumed by my to do list that I didn’t even come up for air. After William’s visit earlier, and Sebastian's clear anger at seeing him, I tried to block it all out by getting lost in the numbers. Which was easy to do, given numbers is not my strong point. Art and colors, yes. Accounting and finance, no.

But if all my calculations are correct, then I have just had my most profitable month yet, and the projections are also looking good. Turning off my office light, I follow the moonlight through the gallery and am lost in thought as I climb the stairs to my apartment. As I reach the top, I get a shock when I see Sebastian standing there, waiting by my door. I stumble on the last step in surprise, my arms flailing around to prevent me from falling back down the stairs, but he is quick and grabs me around my waist, yanking my body onto his. I grip onto his arms tightly, and he walks us backward. His lips brush across my ear, “Are you falling for me, Goldie?” he whispers sarcastically, and if I wasn’t so caught off-guard, I would laugh.

Did he just make a joke? Who is this Sebastian and where has the raging mob boss gone?

He pulls back slightly, our lips now only an inch apart. His eyes search mine, and I see the hunger in them, and immediately I know I am in trouble. My heart begins to race, and my body relaxes into his hold. His tongue darts out quickly, wetting his lips, and my body heats, my knees go weak and a throb begins between my legs. The two of us have been at odds for what feels like forever, and now it is like we are magnets. We can’t stay away from each other, and my body is reacting to his.
