The shrill of my phone woke me up from the nap I was taking. I picked it up to see it was Chelsea calling, so I quickly answered before it went to voicemail.

“Hello?” I cleared the sleep from my throat.

“Thank God, Lola! The Airbnb I booked for tonight canceled my reservation and now I don’t have anywhere to have the party. We can’t do it here because they are still painting a couple of the rooms,” she rushed out. I could hear the panic in her voice.

“Calm down, Chelsea, we will figure it out,” I reassured her, sitting up in bed.

“I’ve called multiple places, and nothing is available,” her voice trembled.

“Snow, calm down, baby.” I could hear Aaron trying to calm her down in the background. He only called her by her last name when he wanted her full attention.

I heard some movement before Aaron came onto the phone. “Lola, I’m going to give you an address; set everything up the same way over there,” he instructed, then gave me the address.

“Got it!”

“Thank you, now let me get this girl to calm down. We will see you later.” I could still hear Chelsea in the background fussing before Aaron hung up the phone. I laughed, but I knew he would handle it. I tossed the paper I’d written the address on, on the table, then got out of the bed. The street seemed familiar, but I couldn't figure out why.

Walking into my closet, I found something to wear for the night before heading downstairs to fix myself something to eat. I knew we would probably be drinking again, so I made myself a thick cheeseburger and some fries. While I cooked, I checked some emails and ate a salad that I’d previously prepared in the fridge.

I went back to my room to get dressed after I ate my food. Since I had already taken a shower before my nap, I freshened up in the bathroom. I applied a little makeup to my face. I decided on some ripped jeans with a cropped hoodie for the night. I wanted to be as comfortable as possible, so I put on a pair of sneakers.

Making sure I had everything, I grabbed the piece of paper and locked up my house.

Arriving at the address, I got out of the car and walked up to the porch. I rang the doorbell and knocked multiple times before I came face to face with an angry, shirtless Kamari.
