Unlike the women who had spaced themselves out, the men were all huddled together a few feet behind the groom. Since Joel had spent most of the night peering through his camera lens, it felt good to relax and enjoy the celebration as one of the guests.

The countdown began, and Joel had his eyes trained on Tucker’s arms. Just before the garter toss, though, Joel turned his head to peek at Sienna to see if she was watching. That was his mistake. By the time he refocused, an arm crossed his view and snatched the bride’s garter.

The young man—who was handsome, if you liked the rugged type—was more than happy to extend his arm toward Sienna. Instead of a dance, they paraded the perimeter of the venue amid everyone’s applause. The other man was a few inches shorter than Sienna, but he didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he bragged at the top of his lungs that he was with one of the prettiest girls in the room.

As if Joel didn’t know that. Even from here, he could see her dimples on display.

He kept his eyes on Sienna as she marched along to the beat. When she waved at him, he lifted a hand and smiled. Not for one second did he let on that on the inside, he was wishing he was the one by her side. And he didn’t get why he felt that way. He and Sienna were pretend friends on a pretend date to ward off suitors at the wedding. Still, he stuffed his hands into his pockets and stalked over to the table to gather his camera before deciding to use this opportunity to talk to the groom.

Joel sauntered over to Tucker, who was now seated next to his parents. He had tossed his jacket and unbuttoned his shirt. Marisa had left to change out of her wedding dress, as the couple would soon depart for their honeymoon. Tucker had announced his and Marisa’s plans to honeymoon in the Maldives, and the crowd had hollered with glee.

After greeting Tucker’s parents, Joel addressed him. “Hey, man. Mind if I talk with you for a few minutes?”

“Sure.” Tucker slapped his leg and then stood. They made their way over to the now-empty bridal table. Tucker grabbed a slice of wedding cake and stuffed it into his mouth. He closed his eyes, swallowing the treat in two bites. “Mmm... This is so good. I didn’t get a chance to eat all day.”

Joel chuckled. “That’s understandable.” He pulled out his cell phone and opened the Voice Recorder app. “So let me start by asking a common question.” He sat in the chair next to Tucker and used one of the napkins to wipe his brow. “How did you know Marisa was the One?”

Tucker laughed. “I didn’t. In fact, the first time I saw her, I couldn’t stand her. She was a thorn in my side.”

Joel’s brows rose. “Really? I was sure you would say it was love at first sight.
