Sitting at the restaurant, Morgan was getting antsy, her anxiety kicking in over seeing Leilani again. She opted for some cotton leggings, a sweater dress, her black peacoat, black boots, and Christmas tree earrings. Christmas was in a couple weeks, which meant her wedding date was right around the corner. As soon as the thought hit her, her stomach felt queasy, but she didn’t have time to be immersed into that feeling because Leilan was walking in the door, shaking the snow off of her coat.

Morgan watched as Leilani looked around in search of her. When she found her, Leilani’s face brightened. She glided over to the table and wrapped Morgan in a tight hug, her scent intoxicating. Leilani sat across from Morgan, situating herself before staring back into Morgan’s eyes.

“You know, there hasn’t been a second since that day on the rock at that beach that I haven’t thought about you.” Before Morgan could respond, the waitress came and took their orders, then left. Leilani’s smile never faltered since she walked through the door.

Morgan’s phone buzzed which bought her a little more time. When she opened the message, her heart fluttered at the same time that the queasiness intensified.
