ILLUSION

The magician is tied to a wooden stick with ropes, but escapes easily.

1. A wooden stick, such as a broomstick handle, is placed over the magician’s shoulders. The magician holds the stick with each arm parallel to it.

2. Two spectators are asked to tie the magician’s wrists to the stick using two lengths of rope (such as a clothes line).

3. When ready, the magician asks the spectators to hold a curtain up in front of him and to face forwards.

4. The magician frees himself by placing his hands on the stick and sliding it in one direction, using both hands (grip and slide).
