When Camilla showed up at her house a few days prior in tears, Nakia was ready to go to war for her bestie before she even knew what the problem was, but after hearing the hurtful words that her husband had said to her, she was ready to kill Kane. She wanted to make that nigga pay for all the shit that he had put Camilla through over the years but Nakia couldn't react until she gave her the green light. With her friend in need of her support, she was about to skip her mentoring session so she could be by Camilla’s side, but she encouraged Nakia to go and when she returned home, the women spent the rest of the evening talking, eating comfort food and binge-watching TV. When they went to bed that night, Nakia thought that her friend was feeling better but when she spent most of her time in her room, she knew that Camilla was really going through it.

Unable to sleep through the night, Nakia laid wide awake in her bed staring at the ceiling. The fact that her bestie was still down in the dumps bothered the hell out of her and she needed to make her feel better. After a couple of hours of thinking and listening to her husband snore, the aroma of bacon invaded her nose. Tossing the blanket off of her, Nakia stuffed her feet in her slipper and headed to the kitchen where she saw Camilla cooking breakfast.

“Aye, C.”

“Hey, Kia,” she solemnly replied. “Have a seat. I made breakfast for everybody.”

“Camilla, it’s 6:05 in the morning. Ain’t it a lil early for breakfast?”

“I know but I haven't eaten anything in the past couple of days. So I decided to cook for everyone.” She prepared their plates.

Placing a plate in front of her, Nakia thanked her before silently blessing her food and digging in. When she noticed that Camilla wasn't eating, she put her fork down.

“What’s on your mind, C?”

“Do you know I have nothing to my name, Kia? Everything that I own was provided by Kane. The car, my clothes, my phone, the house and the money he gives me is all him. I was thinking about what I would do or where I would go if I left him and the only place I could go is my parents’ house and I’ll be damned if I go there because I can’t stand my mom,” she huffed, “I really fucked my life up, Nakia.”

“You know that you and Kannon can stay with us as long y’all need to.”

“I appreciate that Nakia, but we can’t stay here. We’ve only been here for a few days and I already feel like a freeloader,” she sighed, “I was trying to figure out how I could survive on my own and the option I have is to move back home, save the money that Kane gives me and when I get enough, I can leave his ass for good.”
