After hanging up on Kane, Sheena began to stress about where she was going to move. She had one week to find a new place and without Kane’s help, there was no way that she was not going to be able to stay in Atlanta on her own. The more she thought about it, the more she regretted her decision to quit her job. Although she liked being a stay at home mom, if Sheena would’ve kept her job instead of extorting Kane for money, she wouldn't be in her current situation. The only way that she was going to be able to stay in Atlanta was if she asked her parents for help. After they scolded her for quitting her job, the last people Sheena wanted to call were her folks but she didn't have a choice. Snatching her phone off the counter, she called her dad.

“Hey She-She,” he answered, “Wassup?”

“Hey, Dad,” she sang.

“Uh oh. What is it Sheena?”

“So, I asked Kane if he would help me with the rent of my new home, and he told me no. So, in order for me to stay in the A, I’m gonna need help from you and mom.”

When her father remained silent, she knew he was about to give her a lecture.

“Okay, Sheena,” Thomas sighed, “I’ll call one of my friends to see if he has any properties that you can move into. If he does, I will pay the rent for the year but you have to take care of everything else. Okay?”

“Okay.”

“I’ll call you when I know something.”

“Wait a minute,” Sheena stopped him from hanging up. “That’s it? That’s all your gonna say? No lecture? No I told-you-so’s? No nothing?”

“Sheena, I’m not gonna lecture you. I just hope you learned your lesson from the mistakes you made.”

“I did, Dad.”

“Good. I love you and I’ll talk to you soon.”

“I love you too and thanks, Dad.”

Ending the call, Sheena went back to packing up the rest of her dishes. When she was finished with that, she removed the pictures that decorated the walls placing them in boxes. All that was left to pack was her and Kaylynn’s clothes and shoes but Sheena was going to save that for another day. Flopping down on her couch in the living room, she observed the condo that she loved and became upset with herself. Since she was sixteen, Sheena always held down a job and rarely asked her parents or a man for anything. She took pride in being independent. At the age of twenty-four, Sheena had her own house, car and had a bomb ass career that paid well. Although she couldn't afford all the top designers and lived on a budget, she wore her clothes so well that people believed that they were. When she discovered who Kane really was, all she saw were dollar signs and a road to easy living. She quit her job without thinking twice and even though her parents told Sheena that she was making a mistake, she wasn't trying to hear it.
