Drive back to the intersection of NEW YORK AVENUE and LEE HIGHWAY (U.S. 29). Turn right onto LEE HIGHWAY and drive 0.9 mile to the traffic light at the intersection with SUDLEY ROAD (VA 234). Turn right onto SUDLEY ROAD and proceed 0.4 mile, then turn right onto the one-way park road and drive 0.6 mile to a T intersection. Turn right and proceed to the parking lot at the top of the hill. Exit your vehicle, walk over to the end of the parking area, and turn right to reach the paved path and NPS marker “Fight at the Fence Line.” You can do the stand here or continue walking on the paved path for about 100 yards to the NPS marker “73rd Ohio Infantry.” Either way, you should then turn left and face toward the woods.
