Tip

Although it’s easier to use a hard surface to knot a bracelet, you can knot on a soft surface like a pillow as well. Use a safety pin to attach the beginning loop to your soft surface.

Since you arrange your floss before you make the beginning loop, the way you approach a picture bracelet depends on the design you choose—how many color changes are involved, the way it is charted, and how you prefer to work.

This section will discuss four different approaches and levels of difficulty. You may end up doing a combination of these techniques in a single bracelet, but these four approaches should cover any bracelet design.
