The image of the board screaming for their lives plays in my mind like the best movie I’ve ever watched. I didn’t expect that kind of reaction when I told Brynn to modify the formula with itching powder. Sure, I anticipated people to start itching but not within five seconds of it touching their scalps—and screaming like they’d been doused in hellfire? That was just pure gold. I almost feel bad for Killer. I can see how much time and effort she put into the product. After reading the flyer she gave us with all the points of adjustment and how they will fit into the market, there’s no doubt she’s actually really good at her job.

The only problem is there can only be one winner at the end of our six-month time frame, and I intend for it to be me. “Of course, I won’t let the reformulated dry shampoo go to waste. It is a brilliant idea, after all. I’ll tell the board I fixed the issue; with some extensive testing, the product release will go ahead as scheduled. I’ll look like the hero.”

“Bro, that is genius.” Zander’s smiling face shines in my phone.

When I got back to my office after the decontamination shower, I wasted no time Facetiming my brother even though it is, like, two in the morning in Japan right now. I knew he would be just as proud of what happened in the meeting as I am.

“You should have heard the screams. It was like something out of a Tim Burton movie.” I give a soft chuckle.

“Most importantly, though, it all happened in front of the board. There is no way they’re going to pick her over you—especially if she just barbecued their hair follicles.”

“It was totally worth the decontamination shower,” I tell him, remembering the curve of her soft ass against my dick.

The decontamination shower was worth it for more than one reason.

“Who gave you the idea to put itching powder in the dry shampoo?” he asks, and I feel my hardening dick start to fall.

“Becks.”

Zander laughs harder. It’s a very Becks idea to come up with.

“I was going through the launch schedule and saw the board meeting was attached to this product, and he thought about sabotaging it. The decontamination shower was a bit of an overkill, but I couldn’t come out and just say, ‘Oh, don’t worry. It’s only a bit of itching powder.’

“I’m just glad it worked out. You had me worried for a second there that you failed junior-year chemistry, and it’s clear Livvy Blake knows how to fuck with a Bunsen burner. Who would’ve thought?”

Biting the inside of my cheek, I try to tamp down the unexpected anger Zander’s words. Livvy isn’t just an unexpected piece of ass. The idea that my brother thinks of her that way kind of shits me. Losing Glam Co has nothing to do with Livvy, but explaining that to Zander is another story.

“I told you,” I reply, taking a deep, steadying breath.
