Chapter eighteen
Tiffani
I was so excited that my husband was coming home today. I had planned this day for the entire week. I had taken off from work just to stay home and cook his favorite meal and spend time with him. It was almost 1:30 in the afternoon when he finally made it home, but that didnât matter. The meatloaf was still juicy, and the potatoes were fluffy.
I had some dinner rolls in the oven and a salad in the fridge. I had planned this down to a tee. I even planned to suck his dick since we couldnât have sex yet. I just wanted to show my husband how much I missed him.
When he walked in without so much as a hello, I wondered what he was up to. The way he was zipping through the house, you would have sworn there was a fire in the building. I watched him place his bags in the closet and head for the bathroom. I was standing there like hello! It was as if I wasnât even in the room because he completely ignored me.
I followed him in the bathroom because I wanted to know what was going on. I just couldnât understand what the big rush or emergency was. Then he told me that he wasnât even going to be home tonight. He was getting ready to leave and we could talk tomorrow.
Why did we have to talk tomorrow? Why couldnât he take the time to talk to me now? After all, I was his wife. Shouldnât I come first?
The conversation we had was dry as fuck and we didnât get anywhere. I loved my husband, and I really wanted our marriage to work, but he wasnât giving me anything positive. After trying to have a conversation with him for about an hour, it was evident to me that wherever he had to go was more important than me and our marriage.
That was kind of hard for me to accept because I put Lincoln first all the time. I would never put anyone else before him because he was my husband. I vowed to love, honor and cherish him and I planned to do just that.
I didnât know why he didnât take our vows as seriously as I did. The fact that he couldnât wait to get away from me had my radar all the way up. I knew that my husband was cheating on me. What other reason would he be acting the way that he was?
The difference between him and my ex was that I wasnât married to my ex. He cheated on me more than once and I finally dumped his trifling ass. But I couldnât just dump my husband and say that it was over. We had said vows before our friends and family and more importantly, God.
We had a commitment to each other and whether he wanted it or not, he was stuck with me.
When I was unable to convince him to stay with me, I just threw up my hands in surrender.
