Note how the edges and sharp transitions show the greatest refraction effects. The cube and the cylinder have several high-contrast refractions along their edges.

You can see the effect of refraction at the edges of this glass desk. The green colour is a subtle tint in the glass that is visible when viewed through the much thicker distance that these edges sit along.

The edge of this candlestick is refracting the stained-glass window opposite. Note how the reflection of the window is on the left and the refraction on the right: reflection occurs on the surface directly opposite, whereas refraction goes through the object.
