To Allen Ginsberg

Dec. 30, 1954

[Tangier]

Dear Allen,

Enclose first chapter of current novel. Reading it over I get an impression of something very sinister just under the surface, but I don’t know what it is. Just a feeling. The second chapter covers some material I wrote before, some of which you must have seen. From there on I have no plans. Will let the book write itself.

I will work over the S.A. letters, and let you know about alterations. Suspending work on novel to give all my time to the letters. The magazine sounds great.56 I only hope nothing fucks it up. You can count on me to help out any way possible.

Love,

Bill

P.S. What’s this about Rexroth saying Auden says Jack is a genius but ruined by his friends? Jack wrote me that. Also Auden say I am a genius too.

Jack sounds paranoid. The cops caught up with him and served non-support warrant.57 He says he has imitators in Frisco owing to your lack of discretion. What’s this about you have a boy in Frisco?58
