Tip

If you want to see the feature IDs instead of its Type value, right-click on the Buildings layer in the Attribute window and navigate to Layer Properties | Display. Select the OBJECTID field from the Field drop-down list and click on OK. Stop the edit session, start it again, and select the features on the map to see your changes in the Attribute window.

17. Inspect the attribute values of all selected features. As all selected buildings have the same name, we would like to change the Name value from Mercedes-Benz Belgium Luxemburg to Mercedes-Benz for all five features at the same time. At the top of the Attributes window, click on the Buildings layer. The attributes associated with the Buildings layer are displayed.

18. Click in the cell next to the Name field and select the Belgium Luxemburg text. Right-click on the selected text and select Delete.

19. The shorter name should be updated for all five building features. Click on each selected feature from the list and inspect the value in the Name field.

20. Close the Attribute window. Deselect the features (Tool | Clear Selected Features) and save your edits.

21. Leave the MyEditingFeatures.mxd map document open to continue working with the Buildings attribute table in the next exercise.
