Come on, baby, let's rock ’n’ roll! This Sock Hop birthday party will make you want to twist and shout. The party was set in a 1950s-inspired diner, complete with diner-style food, fabulous ’50s desserts, old-fashioned drinks, ’50s clothes, and more. Get ready to have your saddle shoes knocked right off!

I 'VE WANTED TO STYLE a Sock Hop party for a long time now and finally got the chance! The party was held at Iceberg Drive Inn, where two families decided to come together to celebrate their children's combined birthdays. The diner setting couldn't have been better for the occasion. The booths, the high bar complete with stools, the black-and-red color palette—everything was perfect.

THE PARTY had a lot of creative elements, starting with the invitations (template is included on the CD). For a unique and memorable twist, the invitations were delivered along with old records I found at a thrift store. The fun invites definitely set the tone for the occasion.

THE TWO BIRTHDAY CHILDREN, Brigham and Kaitlyn, were dressed from head to toe in darling Sock Hop attire. Kaitlyn was dressed in a yellow poodle skirt and a white button-up blouse, accented with a cute black scarf. To top off her outfit, she wore adorable poodle socks (ordered from an online Etsy shop) and, of course, black-and-white saddle shoes! A black-and-white checked ribbon and a ribbon decorated with cherries were both tied in her high ponytail. Brigham looked like James Dean himself in his sharp, striped muscle shirt with rolled sleeves. Even his hair resembled the handsome ’50s movie star. A black leather jacket, jeans, and Converse TM hi-tops completed Brigham's retro look.
