Dear Robert,

Thank you for the letters—for the poem—for the mushrooms—& for the too-brief times we spent together. Slivers of the mushroom dreams still hang about—& during the night’s sleep-wanderings come back & take me on other journeys. The wall opposite my bed & I took off slow motion train speed traveling where?—somewhere to do with water & sea….

Having taken the mushroom pills (word gets about) makes one an “in” person. Having taken them with you is cemented “in.” I had a light drunk & heavy hangover for 3 days it seemed. Sleeping is still strange—but maybe it’s other things. I found the other volume of the Villa di M.*199 the next day & sent it over to Wasson to peruse. The plates are fine & I look forward to your seeing them….
