Once the setup is complete, open the Web Interface management console to verify that the XenDesktop web interface and services' websites have been created successfully. You should have two sites created, one XenApp website and one XenApp Services website.

Congratulations, you have successfully installed XenDesktop! Now let us configure XenDesktop and PVS integration.

Step 5 – XenDesktop, XenServer, and Provisioning Server Integration

Users will access their virtual desktops using XenDesktop. XenDesktop will relay the connection or break it to the appropriate VM that booted over the network using the PVS.

In order to configure that, you need to configure PVS to integrate with XenDesktop and XenServer. In this section, we will configure the three of them to work together.

Usually, when the XenDesktop setup is complete, you have the options of using the quick deploy or the advanced options. I usually prefer the Quick Deploy option for pilots and POC. For this lab and book, I will go with the advanced path as it will enable you to see how things will be configured. Now let us configure the XenDesktop:

From the XenDesktop Studio, go to the Host section and click on Add a Host.

From Host Type, select XenServer. Enter the Address of the XenServer, Username, and Password, and make sure to select Use XenDesktop to create virtual machines. On the screen, we typed the XenServer Name, but for ESXi it has to be Server FQDN or SCVMM FQDN.
