The Crozon Peninsula

The landscape of the hammer-head shaped Crozon Peninsula % [map] offers myriad delights, from wind buffeted cliffs to sandy coves with turquoise waters. The route from the mainland traces its way through wild moorland before arriving at the busy market town of Crozon. The main interest here is the Eglise St-Pierre, which has a magnificent 16th-century wooden altarpiece depicting the story of the Ten Thousand Martyrs.

Just down the hill is the pretty seaside resort of Morgat, with a modern marina and a sandy beach sheltered by trees. Originally a small fishing village it was made popular as a holiday resort in the early 20th century by the Peugeot family which built hotels here for their employees.
