Good thing Ronan set me up with a big bed. Finley fit perfectly next to me with a leg draped over mine. I couldnât quite feel her, but I sensed the pressure of it and her warmth. As long as I had her wrapped around me, I was happy.
When I first learned of my paralysis, it terrified me that no woman would want me, and Iâd never be able to have sex again. We didnât exactly have traditional sex, but what Finley and I did last night seemed more intimate, in a way. Sure, Iâve given women oral sex plenty of times, and weâve touched each other, yet my nerves and senses came alive when Finley showed me those erogenous zones. She made me burn for her. When she writhed on my face and those noises she made⦠shit. I didnât care about anything else except for pleasing her.
Before my injuries, I wouldâve fucked her, which currently wasnât in the cards for me. Maybe I shouldâve let her try, but I really wasnât ready to face that hurdle yet. My mind would only get in the way, making me grow soft in no time. Logically, I understood she wouldnât care, and sheâd be patient, yet the primal part of my brain told me I was less of a man. If I struggled to get it up or maintain my erection, it wouldâve ruined the moment and ended in frustration. It was better that we ended things on a high note with her coming.
For now, I was content to please her and with her sleeping beside me. She was beautiful, and watching her sleep did something to my heart. I didnât usually have relationships, not that I was opposed to them, either. Only that I hadnât found anyone that really grabbed my attention long enough. The women usually left the next morning, or vice versa. But Finley would be here for a few more months. I liked the idea of her by my side and seeing where this went between us.
How had I not met her before? Weâd been over at Doc Millerâs clinic tons of times, and Iâd never seen her. Then again, we usually had an emergency, and we were distracted.
Finley must have sensed my creepy staring because she stirred awake. She rolled onto her back and stretched like a feline and yawned. Then she rolled back to me, opened her eyes, and smiled.
âMerry Christmas,â she said.
That sleepy smile of hers made my heart sputter, and I couldnât help but smile back. âItâs definitely merry with you in my arms.â
âSweet talker.â
âYou lied,â I said.
She cocked a sleepy brow. âExcuse me?â
âYou said you didnât snore. Youâre a damned jackhammer. I didnât sleep a wink.â
Her eyes widened as big as saucers, and she mumbled her apologies until I burst out laughing.
âAsshole,â she giggled and gave me a playful slap on my chest.
âNah, you were quiet as a mouse. It was the best sleep Iâve had in a long time.â
âHowâs your back
