It is impressive to listen to plain people here, how they avoid boasting and overstatements in daily matters. I collect "expressions," e.g. fire guard leaders explaining how people should get a feeling to be sheltered by the neighbours etc. and then explaining what is needed to act "quickly," to be "calm," and to have the "usual commonsense." I like this type of habit much more than the continental one, with "highest duty," "national community," "self sacrifice," "obedience," "subordination," etc. "eternal ideals" wherever you give a chance to open the mouth.
