She and Jazlynn headed upstairs as EJ came over with his fist balled for a pound.

“I had a blast!” he exclaimed. “Thank you.”

“You are most welcome.”

He extended his arms for a hug, and I was happy to oblige him. When I placed him back on his feet, he took off upstairs. Somya came to me, wrapping her arms around my waist.

“Let me get him ready for bed and then I’ll be back down, okay?”

“Okay.”

“Make yourself comfortable.”

She pecked my lips before trailing the stairs behind him. I headed down the hall to the new library. I’d finally gotten the shelving fully completed this week, but I had yet to see the finished product. When I walked in, it did not surprise me to find the space partially decorated exactly how she said she wanted it. Her books lined most of the shelves, along with a few strategically placed decor items to fill them out. The accent wall was tastefully decorated with inspirational quotes in gold frames.

I could see where she was going with her vision and I was sure once she was done, it would be everything she hoped for. I scanned the shelves, making note of her collection. Carefully, I plucked a book from the shelf. It was small, but the title caught my eye.

“Sex and Rescue by A. Blossom,” I read aloud. “Well, that sounds nasty.”

I figured Somya would be awhile with EJ because baby boy was still wide awake. Taking a seat on her white furry couch, I got comfortable and started reading. Everything was flowing fine, there was little drama. Then I got to the end of chapter four and had to sit up.
